Nanaimo Kennel Club
The Nanaimo Kennel Club is dedicated to the welfare of ALL dogs: purebred as well as mixed breeds.
Our Mission
The NKC encourages the betterment of all dogs in the community through various activities.
We endeavour to enhance the role of dogs in society as an essential member of its communities where it functions as a companion and, above all, “man’s best friend”.
Our History
In 1924 a small group of dog fanciers formed this non-profit organisation to establish dog obedience training classes. We are one of the oldest all breed dog clubs on Vancouver Island

Our Mandate
The members of the Nanaimo Kennel Club are dedicated to the betterment of dogs everywhere.
Education
We will undertake the task of educating and encouraging Members, newcomers and the general public to the world of dogs, no matter what their interest, be it pet owner, competitor or breeder.
Dogs are Family
We recognize that dogs are social animals. As such, members agree that our dogs are part of the family and should be included in our day-to-day activities wherever possible.
NKC Junior Club
We are focused towards teaching our children the joy of dog companionship, the fun of training and competing with their dog while developing a strong appreciation and bond with dogs.
Dogs are Athletes
Dogs love to be active, exercising both their minds and bodies. Whatever the training experience – it should always be positive and fun for dog and owner.
